7.1.15

Words...

Words are under valued in everyday life.
But words do not even come close to quantifying.
Simply,
How much I love you.

16.11.14

A smile.

One smile.
That can be all it takes,
To make or break a day.
The beauty of a certain person's smile is irrepressible.
Unbound by any laws of physics,
Yet still as universally accepted.

One look.
That can be all it takes,
To make or break a day.
A lingering glance from those big pewter greens.
The world's weight falls from my shoulders,
My spirits rise from the ashes.

One touch.
That can be all it takes,
To make or break a day.
Silken skin caressing over mine.
Our hands become entwined,
Suddenly I can accomplish anything.

One smell.
That can be all it takes,
To make or break a day.
A jump and a cold sweat greet me as I wake.
I roll to your side,
My face hits your pillow.
It leaves with a grin.

One person.
That can be all it takes,
To make or break a day.

5.11.13

Losing My Faith

When everything around you seems so bleak.
You tweet,
Your innermost depressed thoughts,
Desperately willing anybody to listen.
You want somebody to do you a favour and favourite.
It's not your fault you're not particularly popular,
That you're not in follower fashion.
You see the problem isn't just your lack of v lines,
Or your lack of shaved back and sides.
You try to be kind, have a laugh and fit in,
The trouble is you're unconventional,
Non conformist.
What happens in public is merely a performance,
Street art designed to appease the masses.

9.9.13

Phil

You see our friend Phil, he's a little bit weird.
Or as my Nan would say queer.
Regardless of what my testicles would testify,
It's the female form that catches his eye.
I calculate you're about 3000 miles away,
Probably still being fakely gay to get your end away.
With you being out there in the wilderness,
We've struggled with the awkwardness.

25.8.13

Black & White

It sometimes feels like your universe,
Family, friends, home and job.
Simply exploding around you,
Solid foundations becoming rubble and dust.
Entrenched in a war zone,
Bombs, bullets, bitches and bile.
Shrapnel, sparks and shock waves,
Impacts from all angles.
When it seems like there's no escape,
No path with which to retreat,
There is always an option.
Look inside yourself.
Relax.
You forget you have yourself,
Your oldest friend.

The sun shines down,
The air and breeze are warm.
Everything is humming in harmony.
The world is happy to have you in it,
You're just as happy to be in it,
Part of the puzzle.
It's the most elaborate jigsaw,
You've just dropped in the last piece,
Relief.
You're content,
The colours are brighter to your eye,
The Strongbow sweeter in your mouth.
"What are you smiling at?".
A reason doesn't present itself,
No reason is required.
